With days full of pampering, sightseeing, or gleefully doing nothing at all, a Nevis island vacation is just the thing to soothe a world-weary soul. But how will you spend your nights? No matter what your tastes, from fine dining to all-night club hopping Nevis has something for everyone. Follow this guide to nightlife in Nevis and youll never be stranded with nothing to do.
Be sure to start the evening off right by enjoying a meal in one of Neviss finest restaurants. For an experience that simply cannot be duplicated, make reservations at Miss Junes. The story behind the eatery is as interesting as the food served there. Talk Show host Oprah Winfrey was staying on Nevis and was told that Miss June was the best cook on the island. After delighting her with a number of specially prepared dishes, Oprah urged Miss June to open her own restaurant. She did just that, and now even the not so famous can dine on Miss Junes eclectic mix of dishes. If you are lucky enough to score reservations do yourself a favor and arrive on an empty stomach.
Another delicious way to spend the evening is at the Montpelier Plantation Inn. A perfect place for celebrating a romantic anniversary or popping the question, the Montpelier will not disappoint. Here you will find tuxedoed waiters catering to your every desire. Youll enjoy cocktails in the stone-encased parlor and then dine on the romantically lit deck. Be sure to leave plenty of room for dessert, as it is to die for.
If youre dinner has ended early and youre not ready to turn in just yet then be sure to check out one of Neviss many bars, offering libations to set the evening off on the right foot. One such cocktail is the Killer Bee rum punch at Sunshines Bar and Grill. The dcor at this shack is brightly colored and eclectic. A neighbor to the Four Seasons, it shouldnt surprise you to see the occasional celebrity at Sunshines.
Another local watering hole is the Ocean Club resort at the Four Seasons. A Caribbean band plays nightly, and you can listen to the steel drums while overlooking the calming waters of the Caribbean Ocean.
If you get the urge to dance while youre in Nevis then you have a few options. On Wednesdays, Eddys Bar and Grill has a DJ to keep you dancing all night. For Saturday night entertainment go to Bananas. They have a weekly dance party that will keep you moving.
For a chance to party like the locals, the Water Department Barbeque is not to be missed. Held every Friday night, the barbeques are a fund-raiser for the local water department. This jump-up (as it is known locally) showcases some of the best barbeque on the island. If you want to see how the locals let off steam than this gathering is for you.
If youve got the time (and the energy), why not check out all that the island has to offer. With a romantic dinner for two at Miss Junes one night and a local barbeque sponsored by the Water Department the next, your vacation will be filled with unique experiences that will make for fabulous memories of your Nevis nights.
