If you are staying on the water, there are a plethora of amazing seafood restaurants to choose from, and most serve alcoholic beverages and are open until 2 am. Peabodys is Virginia Beachs hottest dance club, and is open seven days a week, serving liquor, mixed drinks, and beer. The club has a huge dance floor and hosts live DJs, bands, and radio sponsored events. If dancing is not your forte, you may want to try Abbey Road. The side of the restaurant is painted to look just like the Beatles album cover by the same name. Abbey Road is constantly changing their food and drink menu, and they have a great outdoor patio where you can people watch and enjoy the warm summer air.
If comedy is more up your alley, youll want to try either the Thorogood Inn Comedy Club, or Funny Bones. Funny Bones boats big national acts, and serves up appetizers, entrees, and drinks. The Thorogood Inn Comedy Club usually hosts smaller acts, and has open mic nights on Wednesdays where local talent comes to try out their new bits. The club also serves up food and drinks for your enjoyment.
On the oceanfront, the Wax Museum Royal London is a fun place to check out recreations of your favorite celebrities and some spooky figures as well. There is even a wax Elvis you can see in life size form. Located on Atlantic Avenue directly across from the beach, the wax museum is a great place to stop and enjoy some fun in between your boardwalk strolls. Another great place to be at night is the Haunted Fun House. Open until midnight, the fun house is sure to be a scream. There are lots of live actors and special effects, and youll definitely want to watch out for any scary monsters that might jump across your path!
Live music is plentiful in Virginia Beach, from small reggae clubs to live venues. The Verizon Wireless Amphitheater is a huge venue that seats thousands of people. You can also choose a spot on the large grassy lawn, and dance the night away to you favorite live acts. If smaller is what youre looking for, try the Halfshell. The Halfshell hosts live bands almost every night of the week, with plenty of drinks and food served. These are just some of the many great places to check out while in Virginia Beach, and youre sure to have a great time dancing, laughing, or exploring the night away.
