The beautiful white sand beaches and crystal waters of the Caribbean are one of the major attractions that bring visitors to the region from all over the world. A few of the finest beaches of the Caribbean are highlighted in brief guide. Keep in mind that this information is certainly not comprehensive
Palm Beach and Eagle Beach are two of the most well known beaches on the Turquoise coast of Aruba. Palm Beach is lined with high-rise resorts and is very busy. The sands are groomed daily and the beach offers areas of shade for beach lovers who need a break from the sun. Palm Beach is also a great location for windsurfing. Eagle Beach is south of Palm Beach and is a bit more secluded. Low-rise resorts and time-share hotels are situated in this area. The beach is wider than the Palms beach. Manchebo Beach and Druif Beach are right next to each other on the strip. Manchebos beach curves out into the sea, so the surf can be quite strong. No motorized watersports are allowed in these waters. Bachelor's Beach is another area that offers excellent windsurfing. And finally, there is a nice beach in the Seroe Colorado called Baby Beach. Baby Beach is great for families and, as its name implies, is an ideal swimming beach for kids. The water is shallow and calm. These waters also offer outstanding snorkeling.
St. Maarten/St. Martin is a unique experience. In the north, you'll find French St. Martin; in the south, Dutch St. Maarten. This island has 36 beaches, each offering its own distinct atmosphere. Cupecoy Beach is surrounded by a beautiful rock formation that presents a breathtaking seascape of sandstone cliffs and caves. There are many private nooks and crannies to be found along this beach. There arent any restaurants or bars here so bring a cooler with snacks and beverages. The far end of this beach is clothing optional. Longe Bay is an extension of Cupecoy and is one of the longest stretches of beaches on the island. This beach is quiet and is a nice place for romantic walks and jogging. Baie Rouge has a reputation as the most beautiful French beach on the island. Lounge chairs, refreshing tropical drinks, and snacks are available here. Snorkeling gear can be rented and a cave is waiting in the waters to be explored. There is also an intimate two-person beach near the cave. Orient Bay is a busy beach area providing many activities and attractions. Restaurants and live bands are located in the middle areas of the beach. A variety of motorized and non-motorized watersports are available. This is a noted area for bodysurfing depending upon the weather. Club Orient, a naturist resort, is located on these sands and this area is designated as clothing optional.
St. John, part of the U.S. Virgin Islands, is a natural paradise with much of the island protected by its status as National Parkland. There are 40 beaches to be found here. Trunk Bay is one of the most popular and also one of the busiest. The National Underwater Park Trail affords snorkelers the opportunity to view fifteen underwater plaques that identify corals and fish that inhabit the waters. A gift shop, snacks, snorkeling gear rentals, and changing facilities cater to the many tourists who visit this beach. Hawksnest Bay neighbors Trunk Bay but is a quieter alternative. Picnic tables and shelters make this a prime location for a picnic on the beach. For beach adventurers, there is the opportunity to search for small hidden beaches on the islands parkland. The Visitors Visitors Center has maps and regulations of the parklands available.
This quick Caribbean beach guide highlights some of the most beautiful beaches of the Caribbean. There are many more islands and beaches awaiting exploration. These destinations are a just starting point in the search for a perfect Caribbean beach vacation.
