In modern society, we place a lot of emphasis on our appearance. This is particularly true for our faces. An acupuncture facelift takes longer than a surgical procedure, but is much safer.
Acupuncture Facelift
In health spas around the world there is a new item on the beauty menu. It is sometimes called the acupuncture facelift. This is actually a misleading name, and most practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture discourage its use. It does not involve any of the incisions or other surgical procedures normally associated with a facelift. It also does not promise drastic or immediate results.
The idea of acupuncture for cosmetic purposes is not new. It dates back to the very dawn of Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. The idea of beauty was related to good health in the Chinese way of thinking. Clear and wrinkle free skin with good tone and clear sparkling eyes were seen as evidence of internal good health. Other factors such as weight control and body texture were also important both in the area of physical beauty and good health.
This is the goal of acupuncture facelift. It is a slow, but sure process that gradually improves the tone and health of the skin. It slowly eliminates wrinkles and brings an under glow of health to the skin. It clears the eyes and makes them seem to sparkle with health and vitality. A full treatment would involve all of the other elements common to Traditional Chinese Medicine. Certain herbs and some very strict diet and lifestyle advice would be part of the whole person approach.
Acupuncture is slowly gaining acceptance. Despite the problems of arranging fair clinical studies, a body of clinical literature is starting to appear that is beginning to erase the doubts of skeptics and give some respectability to the treatment. Even the most devout skeptics do admit that there are almost no adverse side effects in acupuncture treatments. When compared to the risks of surgery, this is even more striking. Acupuncture facelift is a more natural way to reduce the signs of aging and restore health and beauty. This idea of being more natural is one of the procedures main appeals in this modern age.
There is going to be a pretty significant difference in cost as well. One of the most important things in favor of the acupuncture facelift procedure is that the practitioner is not going to be viewing it as a cosmetic procedure at all. To him, it is a medical treatment designed to restore things to the way they are intended to be. It is the ravages of an industrial age and a stressful lifestyle with its horrible dietary abuses that has stripped us of the health and beauty that we are entitled to enjoy. Acupuncture will restore things to the way they should be and not alter them into something false and unnatural.
