Lebanon is a country rich with history and culture. In fact, the oldest city in the world, Byblos, still stands there today. Its no wonder that so many tourists flock to Lebanon each year to discover its beauty and intrigue. There are many amazing cities to visit, so make sure you give yourself enough time to see them all.
Beirut is the capital of Lebanon and is full of religious diversity. Byblos is home to many archeological wonders and Kesrouan is hailed as the entertainment capital of Lebanon. You will find restaurants, clubs, beaches and casinos all in the city of Kesrouan.
Since Lebanon is small, it is very possible to get around to most or all of the cities within the country. So, plan to include a trip to Bcharre on your agenda. You will find many great historic sites and museums here as well as beautiful scenery.
Check out the Cedars of God while in Bcharre. It is the oldest grove of cedars in Lebanon and is a stunning picture opportunity. Oadisha (Kadisha) Valley is an incredibly interesting spot that youll want to see while on your vacation as well. You will see ancient ruins, monasteries and homes from long ago while at this site.
There are many religious sites youll want to visit while in Bcharre. Check out Deir Qannoubin and Our Lady of Diman Church for some spiritual and inspiring architecture and history.
Beirut has gorgeous scenery that you wont want to miss. So, make sure you stop by this city to experience all it has to offer. Verdun, Hamra Street, West Beirut, Hamra Area and Bliss Street will all give you a glimpse into Lebanon neighborhoods, the people and their culture. Take pictures of the homes and the surroundings to show your friends back home.
There are many great archeological sites in this ancient city as well. Visit Al-Omari Mosque to see old religious ruins and the Roman Baths to see a famous part of history for yourself!
No trip to Lebanon would be complete without sampling local cuisine. So, try the tabouli, meat and fish dishes and some of the great dips restaurants offer. Beer and wine will be available as well.
For another breathtaking journey, visit Tripoli in Lebanon. Here you will actually get to see an ancient castle, Citadel saint Gilles (Qal at Sinjil). Visit the archeological ruins at Qasr Naous and the religious site, The Great Mosque.
For some great shopping that will enable you to bring back fantastic souvenirs, check out the Souk Al-Harajb in Tripoli, Lebanon. Al-Mina Port is another shopping spot to visit because it is a wharf/pier/boardwalk. Its also the perfect spot to people watch so you can get an idea of what Lebanese culture is like.
A trip to Lebanon will provide you with many things to do and see. The best aspect of this country is its immense history that has been preserved for the world to see. From ancient religious sites to awe-inspiring archeological ruins, a trip to Lebanon will be one to remember forever.
