Shelburne, Vermont is home of the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. This isnt just some ordinary toy manufacturer! Filled with more than 100 different types of bears C one to fit every possible occasion C this is a magical place that will absolutely delight your children, as they watch a teddy bear being made and get a look at all of the neat costumes and accessories that accompany these bears on their travels to new homes. Theres even an option to create your own bear, so that its fine-tuned for a special someone. If you should decide to purchase a bear, youll find a little bit of chocolate in his gift bag, as well as an air hole C so that he can rest comfortably on the way home, of course! One of the things that Vermont is most famous for is its maple sugar products. At the Morse Maple Sugar Farm C located in Montpelier C theres something for the entire family. Your family will love the Woodshed Theater, complete with sugar wood walls and maple stump seats, where theyll be treated to a humorous presentation on the process of creating maple products. From there, its on to the Outdoor Farm Life Museum, which boasts a variety of wooden sculptures that were created with a chain saw. If you happen to be vacationing in the month of March, youll get the chance to visit the Sugar House and receive a local treat called, Sugar on Snow C hot maple sugar which turns into the consistency of taffy when its drizzled over shaved ice. The additional treat of a donut is served with this delightful maple snow cone.

Many of the lifts are built to run down to the lodging areas so that you can simply go outside and jump onto the lift for a trip up the mountain. It also boasts a 2,300 foot Alpine slide C the largest in northern Vermont C as well as sleigh rides, a Christmas tree farm that takes you on a tractor ride to cut your own fir tree, a marvelous toy shop with quite unique gifts, a gondola ride up Vermonts tallest peak and much more. The Bread and Puppet Theater in Glover, Vermont, is a must see if youre vacationing in Vermont. This giant 100-year-old barn has been renovated to house the worlds largest collection of giant puppets. During the summer months, the theater offers performances which include poets, exhibits, live musical entertainment and their wonderful gigantic puppets. Fresh baked bread is offered as a treat for visitors. The Bread and Puppet Theater is a truly unique experience for people of all ages C especially for youngsters, who will be delighted by these magical puppets.
Since New England is most famous for its fall foliage and skiing, a vacation during the fall or winter months will provide the best vacation experience for your family.
