Lexington is a quaint village of about five thousand people that's nestled in North Central Ohio. It's located about an hour's drive north of Columbus, the state's capitol. Lexington was founded in the eighteen hundreds, and was named after Lexington, Massachusetts.

If you're traveling to Lexington alone, you'll probably want to know what kind of fun things there are to do there. The biggest attraction is undoubtedly the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. This 2.4 mile race track brings professional drivers in from all over the world! Not only that, but thousands of observers come to watch the drivers every racing season!

The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course was started in the early nineteen sixties by a local businessman.

It sits on three hundred and thirty acres of land. There are three grandstands, concession stands, a restroom, and even camping facilities available for your use.

Despite its name, this race course is used for racing cars and motorcycles alike. It's said to be the "most competitive track in the entire United States." Some examples of the past races the track has held include American Le Mans, Austin-Healey & Porsche, Vintage motorcycles, and Honda Super Weekend.

To find out the racing schedule for The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, you can call the track ahead of your planned stay.

While there are plenty of food and drinks offered at the race track, if you're a fan of Mexican cuisine, you can take a short drive from the track over to the Pueblo Grande. This restaurant is easy to find because it's located on Main Street in Lexington. It serves delicious, home made Mexican food!

Another attraction near the village of Lexington is the waters of The Clear Fork Reservoir. This seven hundred and thirty acre lake is a popular spot for fishing and boating enthusiasts. You can enjoy a picnic, or you can pitch a tent and do some camping on the seven hundred acres of land that surrounds the water, as well.

If fishing is your favorite sport, you'll be interested to know that The Clear Fork Reservoir is listed as one of the best spots in Ohio for catching huge Muskies. The state record to date is a fifty and a quarter inch Muskie that tipped the scales at fifty five pounds and two ounces.

If you're looking for a place where you can set up your tent, or rent a cabin, and take a dip in the water, then Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park will be the right spot for you! You can camp, fish, go boating, and swim in this spacious park. You can also rent a canoe or a kayak for a peaceful day on the lake!

Just like other people around the globe, the village people of Lexington, Ohio enjoy playing golf!

And The Pebble Creek Golf Course, which is open from March through October, is just the place for you to tee off at! Even if your game is a little off par, you can still enjoy the impressive rolling landscape and the bent grass greens!

Besides the beautiful eighteen hole playing course, there's a driving range, a Pro Shop, and a locker room. Pebble Creek Golf Course also offers you a lounge and a restaurant to relax in during your visit there.

You can also visit two other golf courses during your stay in Lexington. The first one is Deer Ridge, which is a relatively new business that also offers an eighteen hole course. And the other one, which is comparable, is the Twin Lakes Golf Course.

As you can see, no matter what the nature of your trip is, you'll can have plenty of fun in this beautiful Ohio village!
