When planning a romantic getaway in Louisiana, there are several choices to consider. Would the couple enjoy a stay in a bed and breakfast complete with an 1850s four-poster bed while experiencing the lure of the Old South? Of course, Louisiana always has the antebellum plantation experience where the couple can enjoy staying in the plantation house, complete with the columns and staircases, to a quaint cottage on plantation grounds.

Many older areas of Louisiana have bed and breakfast accommodations available within walking distances of local historic attractions. A trip to Bourbon Street, with a stay at the French Quarter is always on the list for romantic getaways in Louisiana. Whether it is during Mardi Gras season or just an average weekend getaway, the lure of this part of Louisiana is almost certain to draw the couple looking for romance. If the romantic couple is looking for good food, good music and a good time, then Bourbon Street and the French Quarter is perfect for them.
If the lure of Las Vegas is calling you, take a trip to Louisiana instead. There are several casinos with grand hotels and all the bells and whistles available to their patrons. These casinos also offer grand dining and other amenities to make the stay a memorable one whether the gaming tables have been kind or not.
Last but not least, would be a stay at one of the many Antebellum Plantations found throughout Louisiana. What could be more romantic than staying in a grand plantation house, complete the great columns and beautiful staircases? Bedrooms in these great houses nearly always have a four-poster bed or a romantic bedroom setting with a full canopy or half canopy. Most of these bedrooms also have a real wood burning fireplace and a private porch to finish off the romantic setting. Many plantation houses offer great meals and awesome scenery.
