The top 10 things to do in Dallas include a trip to the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealy Plaza, visiting the Dallas Museum of Art, or exploring Fair Park. Checking out The Science Place, or spending time at Grapevine Mills are also on the top 10 list as well as enjoying the sights at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, watching the animals at the Dallas Zoo, taking in the sights and sounds at the West End Marketplace, Greenville Avenue and Reunion Tower. Visiting these attractions will make any visitors stay in Dallas more enjoyable.


The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealy Plaza is definitely the place for the visitor to explore who is interested in the events leading to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. This museum is located in the Texas School Book Depository, which is the location where supposedly Lee Harvey Oswald shot the President. In this museum, the visitor will have the opportunity to watch a moving overview of this tragic event as well as the life and accomplishments of President Kennedy. Visitors here will have the opportunity to look out of the windows of the museum toward Dealy Plaza to have an idea of just how the shooting could have taken place.

Fifth on this list is Grapevine Mills, located 30 minutes from downtown Dallas. Grapevine Mills is the shoppers ultimate stop, with more than 200 of the best names in manufacturers as well as retail outlet stores. Restaurants and an arcade are located here as well.


The sixth stop on this list is the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, located on the shores of White Rock Lake. With 66 acres of beautifully landscaped country with trees, bushes and flowers, anyone interested in gardening would be amazed and delighted. The DeGolyer House is also located on the grounds along with its sculpture garden.


The seventh stop on this list is the Dallas Zoo. This zoo is over 100 years old and consists of 95 acres of exotic and traditional zoo animals, from chimpanzees and gorillas to an aviary exhibit and from a reptile building to a childrens zoo. There is also a 20-minute monorail ride that runs throughout the zoo.


The West End Marketplace is number eight on this list. The turn-of-the century storefronts and warehouse located here have been converted into a shopping and entertainment center, complete with restaurants, a movie theater, vintage streetlights, cart vendors and horse-drawn surreys.


Greenville Avenue is number nine on this list of the top 10 things to do in Dallas. This location is the place to visit for nightlife in Dallas with its shops, restaurants and clubs.


Reunion Tower wraps up this list of top 10 things to do in Dallas. The Reunion Tower is truly a Dallas landmark that has been a part of the downtown skyline for more than 20 years. This tower is 50 stories tall, is divided into three levels, with each level being encircled in a dome of lights, which can be programmed to form different patterns.
